Three arrested in MC Nath Suicide Case

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested three more persons accused in Mothura Chandra Nath suicide case on Thursday.

They were identified as Bhraman Baglari, Gopal Sutradhar, and Anshu Khatowal.

On November 26, 2012, Mothura Chandra Nath, head accountant of the Irrigation Department office at Rowta in Udalguri district, was found hanging from the ceiling of his home in Tezpur.

The police recovered a 22-page suicide note in which Congress legislator-cum-former MLA of Sonai constituency Enamul Haque for driving him to take that extreme step.

Earlier, the CID had arrested Haque for his involvement in the multicrore-rupee scam in the irrigation department. Haque, the prime accused in the scam, was the officer-on-special-duty (OSD) in the department when central funds of Rs 270 crore were allegedly misappropriated during 2009-2010.
