Despite police's effort to control crime related to smuggling of contraband, drug traffickers continue to supply drugs to the end users. Police have detained three people from two different parts of the State and seized huge amount of of drugs valued several lakhs.
Nalbari police on Wednesday night conducted a raid in Haripur area and detained two people in connection of smuggling illegal drugs. Police have also seized Rs. 2 lakh 70 thousand from them. The detainees were identified as Riki Ali and Rafik Ali.
On the other hand in Hojai, a team of Government Railway Police (GRP) on Thursday detained one identified as Jakir Hussain of Moirabari and seized tablets of Nitrosun and sedative drugs from his possession.
