Three sisters found dead in Mandavali, probe ordered

Three minor sisters were found dead in their house in Delhi's Mandavali. The sisters, aged two, four and eight, have died to hunger, suggested autopsy reports on Wednesday.

The three girls were found unconscious in their one-room house by their neighbours at around 1 pm on Tuesday. No injury marks were found on their bodies.

A magisterial probe has been launched in the case.

"When their neighbours went to the house, they discovered that the girls were numb while their mother, who was also present in the house, did not know anything," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, East, Pankaj Kumar Singh.

The neighbours along with their mother rushed the girl to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where they were declared dead. According to news agency IANS, the family had shifted to their relatives' place in Mandavali a few days back.

The girls' father, a casual labourer, has been missing since Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, the mother is mentally challenged and was unable to take care of the kids, the police said.
