Top BJP Leaders Visits Residence Of Former APCC Leader Biren Singh

There has been another storm yearning in congress politics in the hill district after the shift of Congress's Former Senior leader MP Sushmita Dev. Former APCC leader Biren Singh Engti, who was elected as a grandfather of politics in three hill districts and a six-time MP, was suddenly visited at his residence on Wednesday in Diphu by some of the leading BJP leaders. The party spent more than an hour at the residence of veteran Congress leader and former Union minister Biren Singh Inti, led by four leaders who came to the BJP from Congress politics and were MPs and deputy chairman of the assembly and chief executive member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

Biren Singh Ingti's son and former Bokajan constituency MLA Klangdung Engti was also reportedly at home at the time. On the other hand, Assam Assembly Vice President and two-time BJP MLA from Bokajan constituency Nomal Momin, Diphu (Hills) parliamentary constituency, MP Haren Singh Bay, Karbi Anglong Swat adalat CEO Tuliram Ranghang, executive member Amar Singh Tisu along with BJP MLA from Howraghat constituency Darsing Ranghang and two BJP members of Swatantra Parishad were also present. The sudden meeting of the most influential leader of the hill land rocked the state Congress as well as the top brass of the Indian National Congress.

In various posts on Facebook after meeting him, they termed it as a courtesy call but in the hour-long discussion, son Klangdung Engti along with Biren Singh Engti, who became one of the most influential leaders in Congress politics in the state Congress and the hill, is almost certain to join the BJP party soon. Reliable sources in both BJP and Congress parties said the veteran father, including Klangdung Engti, has been respectfully invited to the saffron party through this delegation from the ruling party.

Also joining the party, Haren Singh Bay will be transfered to another post and win Klangdung Engti will be made candidate from Diphu constituency in the next Lok Sabha election. According to political analysts, although the former Congress leaders of the hill land wore saffron due to power addiction yet Congress politics are not completely uprooted

The meeting on Wednesday served as an initial attempt by the ruling party to garner the support of the three-decade-old MP as well as his son and family ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with a new equation.
