An earthquake of 2.9 magnitude struck Ri-Bhoi district in Meghalaya on Saturday, the national centre for seismology informed.
Tremors were felt 29km west of Nongpoh at 1.23 am. The earthquake measured 10 kilometres depth.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
