Tripura gets its bi-weekly Humsafar Express from Agartala to Bengaluru

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain flag off the bi-weekly Humsafar Express from Agartala on Tuesday. During the event CM Deb has assured the people of a bi-weekly Rajdhani express which would run from the state's capital.

The train is set to connect Bengaluru with Agartala covering a distance of 3,542 km within 64 hours. Reportedly, its fare is comparatively higher than other long distant trains.

Talking to the media after the event, Deb said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared to transform India in transportation sector. Today Northeast is moving in that direction and bi-weekly movement of Humsafar express proves that. Soon Rajdhani Express shall also start bi-weekly from Agartala".

Further, he also informed that the process of laying alternate railway track will begin soon and that Tripura is on its way to become a business gateway of the region.
