People from across the state of Assam and country haveextended their helping hand towards flood victims and apart from othercelebrities and well-known personalities, Tripura MP Pratima Didi has donatedRs. 10,000 from her first month's salary for Assam flood relief.
Tripura BJP leader Victor Shome said that Pratimahanded over the amount to an Assam government official in New Delhi on Tuesday.He said that she has handed an amount from her first salary as a noble cause.
Earlier, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Assam Sprinter Hima Das were among others who have donated for Assam flood in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Apart from these, NGOs and local organizations havealso donated relief materials including food, water, clothes etc. to the floodvictims who are in distress.
It may be mentioned that after few days of relieffrom rain, the second wave of flood has inundated lower Assam districts sinceMonday and at least four-five districts have been submerged under flood asheavy rainfall witnessed since Monday in some parts of the state and alsoBhutan water enters into the state causing severe havoc in the districts.
