In an operation launched by the forest department at Gossaigaon, a truck has been seized loaded with buffalo horn and bone on Tuesday night. The truck bearing registration number UP 21C/N1871 was carrying the horns and bones to Uttar Pradesh from Manipur.
The Kasugaonforest department has launched the operation at 31 No National Highway against buffalohorn smuggling after it received information through internal source. Receivingthe information, a team of Srirampur forest ranges officials under theleadership of forest divisional officer Motilal Basumatary have started theoperation at 12 midnight and seized the truck loaded with buffalo horns andbones.
The forestdepartment also detained three persons in connection to it including the truckdriver. The persons have been identified as Mohammad Nasim, Arbaz Khan andMohammad Junaid who hails from Uttar Pradesh.
However, theforest officials informed that whether the bones and horns are being carriedlegally or illegally will come into light after the investigation.
