The first Democrat Hindu member of US Congress,Tulsi Gabbard will be running for presidential elections in 2020.
The 37 year old Iraq War veteran Gabbard will formally announce her candidature next week.
Speaking to media, Gabbard said that there are plenty of reasons for her to take the decision. The people of America are facing a lot of problems and she wants to solve them.
In the coming weeks, California Senator Kamala Harris, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will be announcing their candidature.
Gabbard asserted her main issue would be 'war and peace', but she will also push for climate change, will work on the criminal justice system and provide healthcare to all Americans.
Billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer and former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, have declined to run in 2020 among several other Democrats.
