Aheadon the Independence Day, the locals in Merapani area detained two NSCN cadreson Wednesday evening. The cadres were identified as Thangjamo Lutha andElanthang.
Accordingto reports, the duo entered the Indrapur locality in Merapani and demanded extortionmoney from the villagers. Later the villagers caught the NSCN cadres andthrashed them. "Thangjamo Lutha had earlier visited our village demandingmoney," alleged a local.
Later,CRPF recovered the cadres from the locals and handed them over to police.
