An encounter by Uttar Pradesh's Rampur Police SP Ajay Pal Sharma has set social media abuzz Sunday evening.
What is so unique about the encounter you may ask? Well, the person, on the receiving end of the encounter, named Nazil, has been accused of abducting, raping and later killing a 6-year-old minor girl on May 07 in the district. The accused had been shot in both the legs during the encounter.
Speaking to the media, the SP has confirmed that the police has been able to recover the body of the minor victim.
As per reports, IPS Dr. Ajay Sharma popularly known as 'Encounter specialist' shot three rounds at Nazil, injuring both his legs. The encounter made it easier to arrest the accused.
Later, the police admitted the accused to a local hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
Expressing gratitude over social media, SP Ajay Pal Sharma said, "I m thankful to all for immense support of our action against the rapist and murderer. Formerly a dentist, Sharma is a 2011-batch IPS officer from Ludhiana. Within a span of his eight years in service, he has served in Ghaziabad, Hathras, Shamli, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Prayagraj and is currently posted in Rampur as SSP.
