Indian Captain Virat Kohli on Monday spoke about the possible team combinations and the mood in the camp ahead of the knockout match ahead of their semi-final clash against New Zealand to be held on Tuesday.
Addressing the media persons, Kohli also spoke about KL Rahul and the bowling attack as well as addressed the issue of handling pressure. The skipper said, “The mood is great, everyone is relaxed and confident and all teams work hard to get these moments. But whoever plays well on the day makes the party win.” He also said that it’s been a lot of hard work and intense games and there’s the only opportunity that lies in front of the party.
The captain also said that the environment in the camp was upbeat, although it was different compared to the league phases.
He also said that to be honest, it’s a bit different (mindset for knockouts) adding that one can try a few things in league stages but in knockouts one have to be intense. Both teams are experienced enough to play these games, he said.
Kohli also stated that their bowling attack has been up there with the best if not the best in the competition. The way they have bowled in low scoring games and even coming back after being hit, it’s shown a lot of character, he added.
