The last date for Voter ID online verification has been extended by the Election commission of India (ECI). The ECI has extended the last date for Voter ID online verification till 18th November.
According to sources in ECI, it has been observed that the progress of the Electors Verification Programme (EVP) is very slow and a large number of voters have not yet been verified. There are also a large number of forms available for inclusion or deletion or correction, which must be dealt with before the draft is published.
The ECI has decided to extend the termination of EVP by keeping the situation in mind and later changing the schedule of Special Summary Revision (SSR), 2020. Due to general elections in the Delhi Assembly in the first quarter of next year, a separate schedule has been set for Delhi’s EVP and SSR.
