WC’19 begins today with Eng vs SA

The much awaited ICC Cricket World Cup (WC) 2019, is all geared up begin today. England will take on South Africa in the opening match of the tournament to be held at The Oval in London at 3 PM IST.

Defending champions Australia will play their first match on June 01 against the ICC Cricket WC Qualifier champions Afghanistan in a day/night match in Bristol.

India, on the other hand will play their opening match on June 05 against South Africa at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton.

The much heated up match will be on June 16 to be played between India and Pakistan at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The WC will have 48 matches in all, out of which 45 alone will make up the group stage. Each team will play nine group stage matches, and the top four will progress to the semifinals, similar to how the 1992 World Cup was held.
