West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Monday asked the people of the state to have faith in her and she will never allow NRC to be implemented in the state.
She said, "Shame on BJP for creating panic over NRC, it led to sixdeaths in Bengal."
Criticizing BJP's Moves to implement the NRC in West Bengal shesaid, "Democracy exists in Bengal but it is under threat in several other partsof the country."
Banerjee, while talking about the incident of Jadavpur Universityinvolving Union Minister Babul Supriyo said that they have seen what ABVP andBJP did at the university saying that they want to wield power everywhere.
She also said that they will take part in a rally on October 18 against privatization, shutting down of PSUs and also reacted to the move made by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to merge some of the significant PSUs banks in the country.
This comes barely five days after Mamata Banerjee went to NewDelhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
