On the day Sarbananda Sonowal led government organised its second year completion meet, Congress had announced the formation of an alternative government.
With Assam furious over BJP due to the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 and also the increasing enmity within the AGP-BJP alliance has lead to such a proposal.
Assam Congress has also come forward to offer support to AGP and BPF along with AIUDF in formation of an anti- BJP government.
Congress MLA Abdul Khalek said that it is time that Assam voices against BJP as they pose as a threat towards the state.
Khalek also added that Prafulla Mahanta, Hagrama Mohilary or Atul Bora, whoever is chosen as the Chief Ministerial candidate, Congress will put forward its support.
