Police last night arrested one Anima Kisku(30) for killing one Rebakanta Gogoi(55) near Moran on the night of November 6, as she had allegedly tried to protect her from attempted rape attempt by deceased Gogoi.
According to police investigation, Anima Kisku was given a lift by Reba Kanta Gogoi on the ill fated night but Gogoi took her through a jungle road and attempted to rape her.
She told police that she had a small knife for vegetable cutting and she attacked with that several times and ran away.
Later the morning walkers on November 7 found the dead body of Reba Kanta Gogoi, who was a small time trader and used to run a cooperative shop.
