On the occasion of World Bicycle Day celebrated on June 3, Union Minister Dr. Harsha Vardhan comes to office in a bicycle. The minister’s aim is to make a pollution free country and also asked the people to ride bicycle to make the country free from pollution.
The resolution for World Bicycle Day recognizes the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle and that it is simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit and also is a sustainable means of transportation. Riding a bicycle helps beat air pollution and is a great way to get some exercise and see the beautiful world around us.
Simultaneously, the World Bicycle Day has also been celebrated in Guwahati and a programme ‘Pedal for Change’ has been organized in the presence of state education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya. Several cyclists have also been felicitated in the programme.
