A team of Dibrugarh Police arrested another accused of the May 15 grenade blast in Zoo road. He was identified as Prakash Rajkonwar alias Chao Nam Ti Lau from Milan Nagar in Dibrugarh.
Based on internal information, Dibrugarh Police brought him to its custody for a thorough interrogation.
As per reports, Rajkonwar was working as a teacher in Dirak LP School.
The Assam Police has so far arrested ULFA leader Pranamoy Rajguru, Assamese actress Jahnabi Saikia, Chinmoy Lahkar from Guwahati, Amit Ballav Goswami from Golaghat and Indra Mohan Bora from Nagaon in relation to the case. Rajguru and Saikia were arrested within 24 hours of the blast.
The prime accused senior ULFA-I cadre Bijoy Asom was arrested on May 21st, 2019 from Tinsukia.
A former student of the prestigious Gauhati University (GU) was arrested on May 28th, 2019 in relation to the Guwahati blast case.
The grenade blast injured 12 people, including two SSB personnel. Two bike-borne persons lobbed a grenade near the Guwahati Central shopping mall in the late evening hours of May 15th, 2019.
