On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day, Zublee Foundation organised a cyclothon, themed, “Cycle 2 Recycle”. The motive behind the cycle rally was to spread awareness about deceased’s Organ Donation among people.
According to reports, around 30 Cyclists accompanied by volunteers and members of the foundation participated at the rally, which took off from the Assam State Zoo Cum Botanical Garden.
The event had been flagged off by IPS Partha Sarathi Mahanta (Superintendent of Police, Kamrup Rural. Entrepreneur and sports enthusiast Rajnish Goswami and IPS Indrani Baruah were also part of the ceremony.
Organ donation day is observed on 13 August every year across the globe. This day strives to motivate people to donate their healthy and precious organs after death to save other lives in dire need.
A donor can initiate to donate organs like heart, liver, intestine, kidneys, lungs and pancreas after their death. As per the national guidelines, anyone can be an organ donor irrespective of age, caste, religion and community. Organ donation day urges people of all communities to come forth and donate organs to save precious lives.
