The first World Solar Technology Summit will be held on September 8. It will be organized by the International Solar Alliance (ISA) virtually.
PM Modi will inaugurate the summit and deliver the inaugural address, while Nobel Laureate Dr. M. Stanley Whittingham would deliver the key-note address on the occasion.
This was informed by R.K. Singh, President of the ISA Assembly and New and Renewable Energy Minister on Tuesday.
He further informed that the event would be attended by Ministers of member countries of ISA from all across the ISA region.
It should be noted that India has been at the forefront of promoting ISA as an organization aimed at tapping the environment-friendly and renewable solar energy for various purposes.
Countries located between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn, the two regions that receive the most amount of sunlight, are mostly the members of ISA. France, of course, despite being a European country has partnered with India in the project.
