“300+ Pvt Educational Institutions To Be Provincialized” – HBS

197 private High Schools of Assam, 9 private Higher Secondary schools and 149 private junior colleges will be provincialized. 27 new colleges will also be added to the public sector.

A total of 355 educational institutions will be made a part of the public sector.

This was announced by Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today at a press conference.

Sarma also announced that colleges in the state would have to increase their seats by 25% and that those seats this year would be earmarked for the students who have passed from AHSEC.  

He further announced that the first division holders (girls) in the HS exam this year would be given a scooty each by the government.

They would be presented the petrol-run vehicle on October 15. However, they can opt for electric scooty also by applying for the same on sebaonline.org.

Sarma also added that the scooties cannot be sold before the completion of 3 years.

Earlier, the Minister greeted everyone on the occasion of the first day of the holy month of Bhado. He urged the believers to maintain social distancing norms in the Naamghars, and also appealed to keep the number of people visiting a Naamghar limited to 15.
