AbhiruchiSports Day is being observed across Assam on Tuesday, on the occasion ofbirthday of Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah, the first athlete from Assam to win a goldat an international event. This year's Abhiruchi Sports Day has been organizedcentrally in Guwahati with an annual mass jogging event starting from Chandmariflyover to Radha Govinda Barua Sports Complex.
The run is annually organised by Abhiruchi Sports Day Organising Committee. Along with Bhogeshwar Baruah, former-athlete Tayabun Nisha was also present and took part in the rally. A number of school and college students took part in the event.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also greeted Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah on his birthday.
