6th Rangayan Art And Literature Festival Organised In Guwahati

Rangayan, a leading institution of dance, music, and literature at Guwahati has hosted this year's 3-day "Rangayan Art and Literature Festival" at the Madhavdev Auditorium of the Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra.

This year, the festival started on 22nd October and will continue till the 24th of October with a bouquet of fine arts, performing arts, literature, and motion pictures.

For the last five years, Rangayan has been hosting this festival and has earned deserved recognition and accolades. Even Late Sunil Kothari, a highly revered critic has endorsed this festival as 'unique'.

The festival this year will be held part online and part live due to Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines.

The inauguration of the festival had been done on Friday by a famous dancer and member of Rajya Sabha, Padmabhushan Dr. Sunal Mansingh.

The other special and honorary personnel attending the inaugural event of the festival and carrying it out are Sharadi Saikia and the famous Anchor of Delhi Doordarshan Sadhana Shrivastava.

The special programmes for today are-

Chitra Ranga- Shristi: Painting workshop by upcoming artists, 'Bokul Tol'; Ranga Charcha- Biopics and biographies: framing artistes in films and writings- A conversation; Katha Ranga- Literary forum for established writers; Ranga Nidhi- Performances by senior musicians and dancers; Poetry Films- Screening of films based on Poetry.
