AASU to Stage Continuous Protest Against CAB

Last night deliberation of the various organizations of Assam with the Union Home Minister has failed and union cabinet is in all likelihood going to bring in the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). In today's meeting and shall be introduced to Lok Sabha on the 9th of January and Rajya Sabha on the 10th of January.

The All Assam Students Union (AASU), Assam Jatiyotabadi YubaChatra Parishad (AJYCP) and all other organizations met Union Home Ministerlast night and univocally opposed the CAB and both to protest it with full agitation.

Accordingly from today AASU has called for a 3-day various stage of protest involving 30 organisations. Similarly and separately AJYCP, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) and various university student organizations, as well as other organizations, are coming out with various ways across the state reminiscing the beginning of the 1979 Assam agitation.

In view of the all-round agitation in against the CAB, the police and low and order missionary have been geared up so that no untoward incident had taken place.

Already there is some provocative incident that has taken place including one in Bilasipara where All Assam Student Union's office has vandalized similarly anti-Assamese statements also came up from Barak valley which all coming together is also a circle which is trying to provoke the situation.
