Union Home Minister Amit Shah today sought a report from the West Bengal government on the violence that broke out between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at North 24 Parganas district on Saturday.
It has been reported that allegedly, 5 BJP and 1 TMC workers have lost their lives in the incident.
Amit Shah today asked for a report from the state government, said BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya adding that he is sure that Centre will take up the issue seriously.
Mukul Roy, however, alleged that four workers of the BJP were shot dead by members of the TMC in Basirhat’s Sandeshkhali by the TMC workers. The clash broke out between the members of the two parties after BJP protested over the removal of their party flags from the area.
Roy further stated that a team of MPs will visit the area on Sunday to take stock of the situation and will send a report to the home minister.
