Govt’s “mismanagement” led to slowdown: Manmohan

FormerPrime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the state of the economy is deeplyworrying today. He stated that the "all-round mismanagement" by Modi governmenthas resulted in the economic slowdown.

It may be mentioned here that government data on Friday showed India's economy expanded at its slowest pace in over six year.

Growth in India's GDP stood at 5 percent in the first quarter of current financial year (2019-20), compared with 5.8 percent in the previous quarter, and 8 percent in the quarter ended June 30, 2018.

"Indiacannot afford to continue down this path. Therefore, I urge the government toput aside vendetta politics, and reach out to all sane voices and thinkingminds, to steer our economy out of this man-made crisis," the Ex-PM said in avideo statement.
