2 more killed as heavy rains lashed Assam

Two more people were killed and several houses were demolished, when heavy rain storm lashed several parts across Assam on Monday afternoon. Apart from claiming two lives, the storm had a trail of destruction, demolished houses, and uprooted trees obstructing communication on the highways.

Dhananjay Das (45), a labour was killed in Bijni under Chirang district, while another identified as Ramchandra Rabidas was killed in the storm in Manikpur area under Bongaigaon district. Meanwhile, several others also sustained injuries during the storm across the State.

Earlier, two children were killed during last night's heavy rainstorm in Tinsukia district.
