3 Arrested in connection with Hajua TE Firing Case

The Charaideo Police on Wednesday arrested three persons in connection with the sensational Hajua Tea Estate firing case that took place on 9th June 2019. Two bike riders claimed to be ULFA militants fired upon the Main Gate of the Hajua Tea Estate, around 15 days after the manager of the tea estate was served with an extortion demand note.

Thearrested were identified as Akash Pradhan, Jiten Thakur and Uttam Telenga.

"After a lot of setbacks and initial failures, the hard works of a special team, formed by the Charaideo police, finally led to success and following a lead and by connecting dots, the blind case was cracked by the evening of 10th July 2019," read a press statement by Charaideo district police.

Meanwhile, the police have also recovered a 0.22 bore pistol, a mobile phone, a pad with ULFA-I letterhead, ULFA demand note, a computer along with a printer, a Pulsar motorcycle, and a few objectionable documents.

"The arrestedhave been forwarded to the Court and have been remanded to Police Custody forfurther interrogation and investigation," informed Charaideo police.
