3rd conclave of NEDA to be held today

The 3rd conclave of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) is scheduled to be held on Sunday. BJP President Amit Shah and the Chief Ministers of six North Eastern states including Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal will sit for a meeting in Guwahati at 11 am.

Shah Guwahati visit to attend the meeting is a day-long programme.

NEDA aims to win at least 21 Lok Sabha seats out of 25 from the North East in the 2019 general election.

On the other hand, KMSS was seen protesting from 7 am with black flags and slogans of 'BJP go back' opposing the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Borjhar ahead of Shah's arrival. However, in a recent development, police has detained the KMSS protestors and has transported them to Dispur police station.
