5 policemen looted Rs. 4 lakh from commuters

In asensational incident in Dharamtul area, five policemen allegedly robbed two menof Rs. 3 lakh. Both the men were travelling from Jorabat to Hojai, when thepolicemen approached them and robbed the huge amount of cash from them on theNational Highway 37.

Accordingto reports, the team of policemen chased them for over 3 km and signaled themto stop their vehicle. Upon stopping the vehicle, the group of policemendemanded money from them and later released them.

However,both the passengers, identified as Altaf Hussain and Kalimuddin later complainedto Morigaon SP about the incident. Following the complaint, the SP ordered thearrest of all the five policemen. They were identified as Dulal Pator(Constable), Debojit Bhuyan (11APBN), Rituraj Saikia (11APBN), Biswajit Das(Home-Guard), and Kamal Dekaraja (Home-Guard).
