Absence of MLAs riles Speaker Goswami

Pratidin Bureau

Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami today pulled up the MLAs in the House during a discussion on development activities.

As the House met for the day, the upset Speaker, noticing the absence of the questioner MLAs asked to be present in the assembly session. The Speaker took the matter seriously.

It may be noted that when the crucial issue of development of the state is being discussed, MLAs are absent. They don't have any interest. Usually, they were seen creating ruckus inside the assembly as well as in front of media.

The questioner MLAs Ajanta Neog, Aminul Islam, Debabrat Saikia, Jakir Hussain Sikdar, Chakra Gogoi and others were absent in the assembly.
