AICTE rejection of GEC: AASU stages protest

TheAll Assam Students' Union (AASU) on Thursday staged protest after All IndiaCouncil for Technical Education (AICTE) refused to give its approval to Golaghat Engineering College(GEC).

The Golaghat unit of AASU staged a 2-hour long sit in protest demanding action to issue. "This is an instance of government of Assam's sheer negligence. We demand strict action to the matter," said a member of AASU. The protestors also demanded appointment of permanent teachers in the college.

Notably, the students of GEC are facing a bleak future as the AICTE refused to give approval to it. There are a total of 92 students pursuing their studies in GEC.
