Akhil demands re-exam for P&RD posts

After reports of alleged irregularities, KMSS chief Akhil Gogoi on Friday demanded the Assam government to conduct re-examination for the permanent posts in the Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) department of the State.

Gogoi addressing the media in Guwahati asked P&RD minister Naba Kumar Doley to prove his statement. Earlier, Doley denied any irregularities in the P&RD appointments. "I am warning Doley, who is denying the reports of irregularities in the P&RD recruitment, to prove his statement."

He also said, "The investigation ordered by the Chief Minister will not solve the problem," adding, "By announcing the investigation, CM Sonowal has admitted that the appointments were made through illegal means."
