APCC suspends Gautam Roy, Romen Borthakur

Former Assam Minister Gautam Roy and senior Congressleader Romen Borthakur have been suspended from the Congress party on Saturday.The decision regarding the same was taken during Assam Congress' extendedexecutive meeting in Guwahati.

Also the decision regarding suspension of former MPDwijen Sharma, youth leader of the party Partha Pratim Bora and Ramesh Jain wassent to Disciplinary Committee.

It may be mentioned here that Gautam Roy was found celebrating the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recently declared Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, speaking to media after the extended executive meeting, senior Congress leader Harish Rawat said, "The party is bound to take action against those, who doesn't follow its rules and regulations."
