Arunachal: IAF to Award Locals Who helps to Locate Missing AN-32

The IndianAir Force (IAF) on Saturday announced a cash reward of Rs. 5lakh to the localswho helped them in locating the missing transport aircraft AN-32 which wentmissing on June in Arunachal Pradesh.

According toa defence source, Eastern Air Command Air Marshal RD Mathur will give away theawards in a function to be held on Tuesday (September 17) at Arunachal Pradesh.

The defencesource said that these are the people who were directly or indirectly involved inthe search operations that led to locating of missing AN-32 in June earlierthis year.

10 personswill be felicitated by IAF who are engaged in various professions from DC tomountaineer.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) transport aircraft with eight crew-members and five passengers, which took off from Jorhat in Assam for Menchuka airfield in Arunachal Pradesh went off radar on June 3 which took more than two weeks to retrieve the mortal remains of the 13 deceased.
