Assam | 4 IPS officers Shortlisted for Next DGP

TheAssam government has recommended four senior IPS officers to fill in the postof next Director General of Police (DGP) ahead of the retirement of theexisting DGP Kuladhar Saikia on November 30.

IPSofficers namely BJ Mahanta, Mukesh Agarwal and AK Kashyap are the three of thefour officers who have been selected for the post.

TheUPSC is expected to take a call on this in a day or two once they decide to sitfor a meeting.

Accordingto a report, the toss-up would be primarily between Mukesh Agarwal and BJMahanta.

Another senior IPS officer Tapan Deka was earlier considered as a frontrunner but due to some 'technical' issue, he is likely to be out of consideration.
