The seriousness of public representatives in developmental works can be better judged by their attentiveness in the assembly or the parliament. But in an unfortunate incident the newly elected BJP MLA from Sonari, Nabanita Handique, was caught sleeping during the question hour on the first day of the winter session of the assembly.

The MLA, who took Oath ofAffirmation today, was caught on camera sleeping inside the assembly during thelive telecast of Assam Assembly proceedings.

However, there are countless incidents, where the MLAs were seen dozing off or napping in the Legislative Assemblies across the country. But Handique might have created a record by taking a nap on her very first day in the assembly.
