ASSAM | Barred from playing game; Minor flees home

A 15-year-old boyleft his home after his parents denied him to play online video game 'Free Fire'.After a thorough investigation, the boy has been rescued by the police from theLokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati (LGBI Airport) onSaturday.

Family members claimedthat they initially checked with their relatives and friends and when theyrealised that the boy had not gone there, they approached the local police. Whenthe cops interrogated the family and asked if something prompted the boy toflee from home, the boy had the same answer that they stopped him from playingonline video games.

Police's Special Cell team led by ACP Pranjal Bora launched an operation in search of the boy and managed to rescue him at LGBI Airport, Guwahati this morning.

"We rescued the boy while he was buying a plane ticket to fly for Mumbai. The boy was supposed to board in a Spice jet plane, scheduled to fly at 12:30 pm on Saturday," Police official said.

The boy wasreturned to the family members after completing the rescue operation.
