Assam Congress MPs protest outside Parliament

Pratidin Bureau

Following the row over not declaring Assam flood as a national problem, today, Members of the Parliament of the Assam Congress staged a protest, over the terrible flood situation in the state, against the government in front of the Parliament.

The MPs have stated that the protest was not only over the flood situation but also due to the Union Government not releasing sufficient funds for flood relief.

There were not enough efforts made by the Centre to mitigate the devastation that the flood has brought affecting not less than 26 lakh people, alleged the Parliamentarians.

MPs including Ripun Bora, Pradyut Bordoloi, Rani Narah and Abdul Khaleque were seen participating in the protest
