Assam: Congress Stage Protests Against BJP’s Policies

The Congress on Friday staged protest across the state against various issues of the state and the policies of the Narendra Modi government.

The Congress hasstaged the protest district-wise against economic recession in the state, hikein price of essential commodities and depriving the local youths from providingemployment.

In Biswanath, theCongress workers have observed a mass protest in front of Biswanath post officeand around five hundred workers participated in the protest.

On the other hand, Congress workers have staged protests in every district against the BJP government for their failure to control price-rise in essential commodities, economic recession, and other key issues.

Congress has decided to hold nationwide protests from November 5 to 15 against the Narendra Modi government's policies with special focus on the economic crisis, unemployment, farm distress and the "adverse" impact of the proposed RCEP agreement.

Congress general secretary organization KC Venugopal said in a statement that the protests against the BJP Government's "misrule" would be carried out at all state capitals and district headquarters. The protests will culminate in a "massive programme" in the national capital in the last week of November, he said, adding that at the state level, the PCC presidents, CLP leaders and senior AICC functionaries will provide the leadership, while central leaders will participate in the protest in Delhi.
