In an incident, a helicopter of the Indian Army had to make an emergency landing at Bihpuria College playground in Lakhimpur district of Assam on Saturday. The reason behind the emergency landing was stated as a technical glitch.

Defence Spokesperson Harshvardhan Pandey said that the Army aviation corps helicopter had taken off from Tezpur Misamari and developed a glitch mid air.

The helicopter had three Army officers on board and one pilot, Pandey added.

Another Army helicopter reached the spot and returned with the stranded officials.

"The chopper is still in the field and it will take more than one day to repair," said Pandey.
