A youth of Assam hascome up with a new idea by making the national flag with bamboo ahead of theIndependence Day in order to make the environment free of plastic.

Ahead ofIndependence Day, the markets are seen full of national flags made with plasticsand khadi cloths but this time a youth from Upper Assam, Debojit Chetia hascome up with a unique idea by making the national flag with bamboo which ispollution free.

It has been seenevery year that people bought the national flag to fly in houses, offices andeven in vehicles but on the very next day of the Independence Day, it has beenseen that the flags were lying on the roads which is a sheer disrespect to thenation and also the plastic flags creates pollution.

In order to keepthe environment healthy, Debojit Chetia of Tingkhang has made flags out ofbamboo, wood and cane and sold many flags ahead of the 73rdIndependence Day.

Chetia was associated with this art since 10 years and it is not only flags that he has made but also many traditional items are being made out of bamboo, cane and wood. He also joined many exhibitions in the state to showcase his products like jewelry, tea-pot, animals etc. which are made of bamboo and wood.
