Assam Police To Act Strict Against Lockdown Violation: DGP

The AssamPolice will act more strictly during the second phase of lockdown startingtoday, this was said by the Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta after a meetingheld at Sankardev Kalashetra.

The DGP saidthat the police will take strict action if anyone violates the rules of thelockdown. He requested the people to cooperate with the police and to stay athome during this period. "No person will be allowed to take out their personalcar. If anyone comes out of their house in any emergency then they will have tocome with valid authorization letter and ID card," the DGP said.

He furtherstated that if the people do not maintain the social distance, police will becompelled to take strict action.

The DGPfurther stated that till April 20 there won't be any relaxation and therefore,they request the people to have patience for some days and if the situationimproves after April 20, there might be some relaxation.

The Assampolice also requested the state government to provide home delivery ofmedicines for the senior citizens.
