Biswanath: 10 Cattle laden trucks Seized

Pratidin Bureau

The Biswanath police on Wednesday seized 10 trucks carrying cattle illegally and apprehended 32 persons in connection to it.

Police said that two trucks from Hawajan, 3 from Gohpur, 4 from Jinjia and one truck from Helam has been seized loaded with cows. 237 cows have been recovered from the trucks.

It may be mentioned that the cow smuggling in the state is still continued unabated amidst the lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak in different places of the state.

Notably, hundreds of cows are smuggled to neighbouring Bangladesh and other parts from Assam on a daily basis but still, the government is silent and failed to take any measures to curb the menace.
