BJP’s Nabanita Handique Wins from Sonari

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Nabanita Handique has won the by-polls from Sonari seat by a margin of 15311 votes against Congress's Sushil Kumar Suri.

Handique secured 66576 votes while Congress candidate Suri received51265 votes.

It may be mentioned that three out of the four Assembly seats in thestate have won by BJP while one seat in Jania has won by AIUDF.

This time also Congress is seen to be satisfied with zero wins in the Assembly by-polls in the four constituency- Ratabari, Rangapara, Jania and Sonari.
