Brahmaputra engulfs parts of North Guwahati

As the water of the Brahmaputra River is increasing 2-3 cm per hour, it has now submerged several parts in and around its northern bank.

Areas in North Guwahati such as Amingaon Etabhata, Lachitpur have been flooded by the rising waters of the mighty river.

The fast flowing flood waters have washed away concrete houses forcing the locals to take shed at nearby relief camps.

Flood has completely submerged two of the villages in Amingaon.
