Sonowal government directs students, teachers to attend screening of ‘Chalo Jeete Hain’

Pratidin Bureau

The Cultural Affairs Department of Assam has organised for a screening of a 32-minute short film named 'Chalo Jeete Hain' which is reportedly inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's childhood.

The screening has been scheduled at Srimanta Sankardeva International Auditorium at 5.30 PM on Monday in Guwahati.

The Sonowal led government has left no stones unturned to promote the short film. The Director of higher education has written to all heads of government and provincialised colleges of Kamrup Metro District to send thirty students from each institution, including teachers, to attend the screening.

Its main character is named 'Narendra' whose mother washes utensils at people's homes and father sells tea. The movie shows 'Narendra' in a quest for finding out what people live for and then using his earnings from a drama to buy dress and books for a Dalit boy who was unable to attend school due to his family poverty.

BJP's official twitter handle on July 21 had tweeted, "'Chalo Jeete Hain' is a short film which compels you to think who do you live for? It presents an inspiring story of young Naru, destined to serve the nation. Guess who?."
