Coal Syndicate : Nagarik Samaj slams Assam Govt.

Pratidin Bureau

Under the backing of powerful ministers of the Sarbananda Sonowal-led state Government, the coal syndicate is being continued in Barak valley. This was alleged by Katigara Nagarik Samaj at a press meet on Tuesday.

NagarikSamaj said that the priority of the BJP government, before elections was tostop the syndicate in Assam but they haven't taken any major steps till now.

"CM Sarbananda Sonowal ordered a CBI inquiry on it. But, what is the status of the inquiry? We urge Sonowal to address a press conference about this issue": Nagarik Samaj strongly demanded.

Samaj alleged that the Cachar BJP President Kaushik Rai and many BJP leaders are involved in the syndicate.

The society also appealed to the Sarbananda Sonowal government to take immediate action to stop the syndicate within the month otherwise the organisation, with help of people, would come out against the coal syndicate.

It has been observed by the state organizations and public that there might be a political rivalry that has led to the recent controversy and action against the coal syndicates.
