Congress stages protest against Sonowal, Ranjeet Dass

The Congress workers on Friday carried out a massive protest across Assam against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ranjeet Kumar Dass following their "objectionable comments"  on Congress President Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.

Effigies of  Sarbananda Sonowal and state BJP  president Ranjeet Kumar Dass were burnt at several places by the Congress workers.

In Guwahati, the Congress workers staged a protest against the comments of Sonowal and Dass at Rajiv Bhawan. The workers also burnt effigy of Dass amidst slogans like 'BJP hai hai'.

Effigies of CM Sonowa and Ranjeet Kumar Dass were also burnt by the Congress workers at Goalpara's Krishnai, Bihpuria, Jorhat, Nalbari, Barpeta, Chabua, Morigaon, Mukalmua and Rangjuli .

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary Pradyut Bordoloi slammed CM Sonowal at a press conference in Rajiv Bhawan on Friday and said BJP's ideal person Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Savarkar had begged the British for mercy. Bordoloi further added, Savarkar was a supporter of Hitler and Mussolini and a patron of fascism.

Earlier on Thursday, Sonowal attacked the Congress and stated that Rahul is the president of the "corrupt" party and will never be the Prime Minister. The state BJP president Ranjeet Dass referred the Congress President as "Nonsense".
